Thank you

We learn and find inspiration from the writers around us, on the page and in our community. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and inspiring us: Nancy Slonim Aronie, Marcia De Castro Borges, Nicole Galland, Judith Hannan, John Hough, Jr., James W. Jennings, Elizabeth Shick, Elisa M. Speranza, Nancy Star, Claudia Taylor, Jennifer Smith Turner, and Natalie Wambui.

We were thrilled to have this event at Featherstone Center for the Arts during their gorgeous Muse show. Thank you to: Ann Smith, truly for all you do; Mathea Morais, of Featherstone Literary Arts, for being such an integral part of this event, Posie Haeger, for getting word out, and Jeanne White, for your ideas and presence.

Mathew Tombers, manager of Edgartown Books, you shine a spotlight on local authors, and for a moment, we’d like to shine that spotlight back on you and to let you know how grateful we are. And thank you to the Edgartown Books crew of Melissa Green, Nicholas Da Silveira, Rayssa Moraes, and Antonina Kaluzna.

And to Chef Juliano Marasca for stepping in and creating a beautiful spread for the All Island Book Fair.

Catboat Coffee, Naji Boustany and Josue Castro, we loved having you at the event and I, for one, couldn’t have gotten through the day without your delicious coffee and food.

We were delighted that Island authors Tom Dresser, Michael West, Holly Nadler, Ivan Cox/Gerry Yukevich, Dan Martino, Noel Foy, Amelia Smith, Julia Spiro, Patti McCracken, Emma Brodie, Suzan Bellincampi, Jack Fruchtman, Benita Jane, Spencer Steeves, Norman Birnbach, Sian Williams, Bonni Brodnick, Caren Sacks, Ginger McKnight Chavers, Morgan Baker, Rose Styron, Ellen Story, Fan Ogilvie, and Warren Woessner could join us for book signings.

Additional thank you to Tisbury Printer and Island Source.

And to Ellen Jovin, Brandt Johnson, and Richard Paradise and the MV Film Center for kicking this event off. And to Del Arujo and Aquila.

Fifteen writing workshops were given over the weekend. We are delighted to offer these courses to the Vineyard community for free, but couldn’t do it without the generous support of:

Martha’s Vineyard Community Foundation, Mass Cultural Council, Doug Liman, Stimola Literary Studio, Island Proofreading, The Mimi and Peter Haas Fund, Cronig’s Market, Judith Hannan, Keith Dodge, Susan Scheuer and Jonathan Lipnick, and Island Proofreading.

At the All Island Book Fair we announced a new grant that will be supporting young Island journalists and we are grateful for the generosity and vision of John and Michelle Battelle.
