
RICHARD NORTH PATTERSON Is the author of 23 novels, including 16 New York Times bestsellers, as well as a nonfiction narrative of the 2016 presidential campaign. He is also a lawyer and political commentator, a former chairman of Common Cause, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Many of his novels have focused on geopolitical, political, and social issues, including reproductive rights, gun violence, the death penalty, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and the threat of nuclear terrorism. His latest novel, Trial, concerns America’s ongoing fissures of race. He lives on Martha’s Vineyard and in Jacksonville, Fla.
