Laurie Lindeen is the author of the critically acclaimed memoir “Petal Pusher” (Atria/ Simon & Schuster, 2007) that details her years in the all-women indie rock band Zuzu’s Petals. Laurie recently returned to the island after a 30+ year hiatus in Minneapolis where she raised her son, Johnny, and taught writing and literature at the University of St. Thomas, the Loft Literary Center, as well as leading memoir writing retreats and boot camps at the Madeline Island School of the Arts. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times, Huffington Post, and in a variety of literary publications.
