Lara O’Brien

Lara O’Brien was born in Dublin and raised in Howth riding stables, tending horses on the East Mountain. In 1994 she emigrated to the U.S. and lives on the sister island of Martha’s Vineyard, where she remains a committed writing workshop participant and facilitator. In 2014, after the publication of her children’s novel, “Chesca and the Spirit of Grace,” Lara began teaching workshops and high school classes in writing for self-discovery and mapping your life in story. Lara began Howth Writing Workshop, a women’s writing retreat in 2017. She connects her love of writing, Ireland, and adventure with other women, who wish to safely fall in love with a new place and reconnect with self.
