The Basics on A Gallery:
A Gallery introduces a unique loft space setting for the contemporary arts on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Featuring large-scale artworks with room to breathe, site-specific installation pieces as the season progresses, this new gallery offers art that you won’t see elsewhere on the Vineyard.
Having identified a need for a space that provides artists with an opportunity to show large bodies of work with somewhat risqué content, not otherwise comfortably accommodated in traditional Martha’s Vineyard settings, Tanya Augoustinos and partner Maria Westby have transformed a warehouse building into an unexpected visual art experience where urban sensibilities meet rural sensitivities.
