Elizabeth Benedict was dubbed The Sex Priestess of the Ivy League by The New York Observer when “The Joy of Writing Sex” was first published in 1996 and she was teaching at Princeton. She’s given dozens of workshops on how to write and integrate sex scenes in fiction. Her novels include the Vineyard-inspired bestseller “Almost,” which NPR’s Maureen Corrigan called “emotionally profound and richly textured.” She’s the author 4 other novels and editor of 3 anthologies, including the New York Times bestseller, “What My Mother Gave Me: 31 Women on the Gifts That Mattered Most.” Her journalism and personal essays appear widely.
