Kay Scheidler

Kay Scheidler is author, Standards Matter: The Why and What of Common Core State Standards, 2015, on the politically hot topic of national school standards. Kay taught English at an urban high school in Providence, RI for over twenty years and taught Methods of Teaching English at Brown University, summering on the Vineyard. Kay was Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Canton and Hopkinton, MA and Curriculum Director in Marblehead, always involved in school change, and finally writing about it in a way that speaks to teachers and the public.  She now teaches teachers, and escapes to this special writing-friendly island to live, think, party, and write.
